The Competence and Conduct Standard is a new requirement being introduced by the Regulator of Social Housing. It sets out clear expectations for how staff and contractors should behave, the skills they need, and how they should deliver services — professionally, fairly, and responsibly.

To get ready for the new standard coming into effect in October 2026, SNG is developing a Competence and Conduct Policy. This policy will define the behaviours we expect from our teams and explain what happens when those expectations aren’t met.
