Welcome to your jargon buster and acronym de-coder!

Here at SNG, we aim to use plain English and avoid jargon as much as possible. We do recognise that however hard our colleagues try, sometimes they still use terms, words, abbreviations and acronyms that leave you puzzling as to what they mean.

This guide will help you to understand most of the jargon, phrases, and abbreviations you might come across when working with SNG and other housing staff, so hopefully those bits you dare not own up to not understanding, are explained in here.

Abbreviations - A short form of word or phrase

Acronym - An abbreviation consisting of the first letters of each word.

Jargon - Words or expressions used by a profession or group that are difficult for others to understand.

Please don’t be afraid to stop anyone at SNG and ask if there is a phrase or word they are using that you don’t understand, chances are you are not alone!
