Mental health at Christmas

Christmas can be a time of celebration, but it can also be a really difficult period for many people. The pressure to feel happy, financial worries, loneliness, grief, family challenges, or changes in routine can all affect our mental health.

If Christmas feels hard for you, please know:

  • You are not alone.
  • Your feelings are valid.
  • It's ok to take things at your own pace.

You don't have to attend every event, feel festive every day, or put on a brave face. Small steps, gentle routines, and reaching out for support can make a real difference.

This Christmas, let's be kind to ourselves and look out for one another. A simple check in, a conversation, or a listening ear can mean more than we realise.

If your struggling, support is available. Please reach out to someone you trust or a support service.
