Facilities for you to use

The building is set over five floors and consists of ensuite bedsits, arranged across 9 flats, each with their own kitchen.

Other facilities available for you to use include:

  • Break-out spaces
  • Fully equipped gym
  • Meeting rooms, including a large communal kitchen / lounge
  • Mezzanine seating
  • Several smaller meeting spaces

We encourage everyone here including the SNG team, partners and residents to use all the spaces to meet and work together.

What support is available?

You can be confident that you are supported throughout your journey at The Foyer, from induction to resettlement in independent accommodation.

The SNG team deliver housing-related support and advice, using a trauma informed approach in a psychologically informed environment. As a resident, you will be matched to a Support Worker who will coach and collaborate with you to achieve personal goals and outcomes.

The aim is to focus on areas of support which you tell us is important to you, such as access to education, training, employment or support with mental health issues or substance misuse issues.

    On Wednesday we celebrated an incredible milestone โ€” 25 years since Nikki started working at the Foyer, right from the very beginning!

    Since day one, Nikki has been more than just a colleague โ€” sheโ€™s been a constant source of support, kindness, and reliability. Her dedication to the team, the residents, and the Foyer itself is something truly special.

    If sheโ€™s not busy chatting with a resident, offering her usual words of wisdom, you can bet sheโ€™s in her famous โ€œofficeโ€ (aka the shed), rummaging away and somehow always finding exactly whatโ€™s needed!

    Nikki, thank you for being such a fantastic part of this place for so many years. We appreciate you more than words can say โ€” hereโ€™s to you and everything youโ€™ve done (and continue to do) for all of us!

    Yesterday's cooking session was a huge success โ€” and weโ€™re still talking about that cheese sauce!

    For many of our group, it was their first time making mac and cheese from scratch, and they absolutely nailed it. No lumps, no stress โ€” just smooth, cheesy perfection.

    It was fantastic to see everyone get stuck in, learn something new, and leave with a delicious dish (and a boost of kitchen confidence).

    Big thanks to everyone who took part โ€” we canโ€™t wait for the next one!

    Weโ€™re excited to share that the first batch of kitchen starter packs has now been handed out to 5 residents who attended our recent cooking sessions.

    A huge thanks to everyone who took part! ๐Ÿ™Œ

    These packs are filled with essential items to help them continue building their confidence and independence in the kitchen.

    The next batch will be available soon, so if you have attended a cooking session โ€“ watch this space for more updates!

    ๐Ÿณ Cooking Sessions โ€“ Our resident cooking sessions have been a big hit! Whether you're a kitchen pro or just learning the basics, come along, get involved, and enjoy a delicious meal with your neighbours. Keep an eye out for dates and sign-up sheets around the building.

    ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Residents' Meeting โ€“ Donโ€™t miss our upcoming residentsโ€™ meeting! Itโ€™s your chance to share feedback, hear updates, and help shape life in the building. Weโ€™ll be discussing upcoming events, maintenance updates, and more.

    ๐ŸŽ“ Elected Presidents โ€“ A big congratulations to our newly elected resident presidents! Weโ€™re looking forward to working closely with you to make this community even stronger, more inclusive, and full of positive energy.

    Tuesday night was a sweet success! A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our scone and jam evening โ€“ it was lovely to see so many of you enjoying a relaxed evening with good conversation (and even better treats!).


    From warm scones fresh out the oven to heaps of jam and cream โ€“ it was a perfect way to unwind and spend time together.

    We love bringing the community together and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Keep an eye out for details of our next get-together โ€“ weโ€™d love to see you there!

    With a heatwave on the way, it's more important than ever to look after yourself and others in the sun. Here are some simple but essential tips to stay safe:

    ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Stay Hydrated โ€“ Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if youโ€™re not feeling thirsty. Avoid too much caffeine or alcohol.

    ๐Ÿงด Use Sun Protection โ€“ Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 regularly, and donโ€™t forget ears, neck, and the tops of your feet!

    ๐Ÿ˜Ž Cover Up โ€“ Wear light, loose clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from harmful UV rays.

    ๐Ÿก Keep Cool Indoors โ€“ Close curtains in sun-facing rooms, use fans, and stay in the shade as much as possible, especially between 11am and 3pm.

    ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ Avoid Strenuous Activity in Peak Heat โ€“ If you need to exercise or work outdoors, try to do it early in the morning or later in the evening when itโ€™s cooler.

    Check on Others โ€“ Keep an eye on neighbours and friends. If you or someone else feels dizzy, confused, has a headache, or is very hot and sweating heavily โ€“ move to a cool place, drink water, and seek help if needed. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

    Too many men put off check-ups, ignore symptoms, or try to โ€œtough it outโ€ in silence. This week is a reminder that taking care of yourself is a strength, not a weakness.

    โœ… Book that health check
    โœ… Talk about whatโ€™s going on โ€“ physically or mentally
    โœ… Take small steps every day for better health (walk more, drink water, get some sleep!)
    โœ… Look out for your mates โ€“ a simple โ€œhow are you really doing?โ€ can go a long way

    Youโ€™re not alone. You matter. Your health matters.

    Letโ€™s break the stigma and support each other โ€“ this week and every week.
