Facilities for you to use
The building is set over five floors and consists of ensuite bedsits, arranged across 9 flats, each with their own kitchen.
Other facilities available for you to use include:
- Break-out spaces
- Fully equipped gym
- Meeting rooms, including a large communal kitchen / lounge
- Mezzanine seating
- Several smaller meeting spaces
We encourage everyone here including the SNG team, partners and residents to use all the spaces to meet and work together.

What support is available?
You can be confident that you are supported throughout your journey at The Foyer, from induction to resettlement in independent accommodation.
The SNG team deliver housing-related support and advice, using a trauma informed approach in a psychologically informed environment. As a resident, you will be matched to a Support Worker who will coach and collaborate with you to achieve personal goals and outcomes.
The aim is to focus on areas of support which you tell us is important to you, such as access to education, training, employment or support with mental health issues or substance misuse issues.

We can now help with Food Bank referrals.
If you need assistance, please speak to your support worker. They will guide you through the process and make a referral on your behalf.

Autumn learning

Islanders looking to boost their skills or explore new hobbies this autumn are being invited to take part in a fresh programme of workshops and courses from Adult Community Learning.
The programme, aimed at adults aged 19 and over, includes a wide variety of sessions ranging from arts and crafts to health and wellbeing. For those keen to improve their qualifications, free courses in English, maths and ICT are also available.
Councillor Paul Brading, chair of the Isle of Wight Council's children's services, education and skills committee said: “Whether you're looking to gain a qualification, try something creative, or simply meet new people, our autumn programme has something for everyone.
"We’re particularly proud to offer free online short courses across a wide range of subjects.”

In addition to the courses, Adult Community Learning is offering free one-to-one careers advice with Claire Rixon, who can help residents explore their skills and experiences, write CVs, complete job applications, and take the next step in their career journey.

Group sessions designed to build confidence and uncover hidden strengths will also be held this autumn. These workshops aim to support participants with training, job applications, interviews, and employment opportunities.

What a month it's been!
With the hot weather, we made sure everyone stayed cool and comfortable while still enjoying plenty of activities together. From games and social sessions to resident meetings and preparing new rooms, its been all about community, connection, and keep our space welcoming.

Our Millie's cookies cooking session last week brought residents together for an easy, feel good bake. From perfecting the dough to nailing that soft centre bite, residents learnt new skills, met new people, and left with a plate full of tasty treats. Missed it? Did you know The Salvation Army runs a hygiene bank?
This service provides free essential toiletries and household cleaning items for those who need a little extra support.
If you would like access this, you can:
- Ask your support worker to help you apply.
- Contact The Salvation Army directly yourself.
Its a great way to make sure you have the essentials you need without added worry.

We are making sure everyone has access to essential items. Thanks to a generous donation from the food bank, we now have free sanitary products available for anyone who needs them.
You will find them in the disabled toilet downstairs and the laundry room.
No questions asked.
Just take what you need, when you need it.

It's been a few weeks, but we are so excited to say our cooking sessions are back, and we are starting off with something sweet!
Join us tomorrow 19th at 6pm as we bake up some chocolate chip cookies together. Whether you love to mix, bake, or just enjoy a fresh warm cookie, this is the perfect session to get stuck in.
We can't wait to welcome you back. See you in the kitchen!

A few weeks back we whipped up a delicious chicken and bacon tagliatelle. Creamy, comforting and packed with flavour.
We got stuck in with chopping, stirring and of course tasting! It was a fantastic session full of laughter, teamwork and amazing food.
Big thank you to everyone who joined in, you made it a real success!
